We need your help with pics!
We’re foregoing a traditional wedding photographer in favor of drones and crowdsourcing! That means we need everyone’s help in capturing pics of the party. We all have phones, so let’s use them to do what most of us already do and take selfies and pose with family and friends. Please don’t be shy and share your pics with us on social media (Facebook or Instagram) by tagging your post with our hashtag: #kariandi2023.

The what, where + when
Date: Saturday, June 3, 2023
Time: 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Where: Boat departs from dock next to the The Hula Hut (3825 Lake Austin Blvd 78703). The boat departs promptly at 6:35 PM (so don’t be late!!!) and returns to the dock at 9:15 PM.
Parking: Free parking is available at the top of the hill (3800 Lake Austin Blvd) (see image). It’s a short walk down the hill from the parking lot to the dock next to The Hula Hut. The boat will be parked at the end of the dock (see image).
Food: Taco bar, Austin-style! (Don’t worry, we’re not making y’all be vegetarian like us 😜). We’ll also have some kids’ meals (chicken fingers and mac + cheese) for those under 12 or if your name is Dax Hecox 😜.
Drinks: Hosted full bar with cucumber margaritas + non-alcoholic beverages
Entertainment: DJ Cassandra, dancing + sightseeing around Lake Austin
Attire: 100% casual, but no swimwear (It’s Texas in June so dress comfortably. There isn’t any swimming off of the boat though, so you can leave your bikinis + trunks at home). Don’t forget your sunglasses or a hat as it may be sunny for the first half of the boat ride.

Of course! We’re wearing shorts, so you can too! We encourage everyone to dress cool and comfortable. Shorts, t-shirts, flip flops….all fair game. It’s 100% casual.

No. We will depart the Hula Hut dock at 6:35 PM and will return to the same dock at 9:15 PM. There will be no stops along the way. We’ll go up Lake Austin to the iconic 360 bridge and turn around to return to the dock. Please bring everything you might need (especially for the little ones) on the boat as we’ll be on the water for 2 hr 30 mins.

Yes! Children 12 years old or younger (or if your name is Dax Hecox) will have a kids’ meal of chicken fingers and mac + cheese. Tell a server if your child is interested in a kids’ meal.

The boat will go out rain or shine. In the event of extreme weather, such as high winds or thunderstorms, we might need to move the event indoors for safety reasons. If this happens, the “call” to move the event may happen day of. We will notify everyone via text message and the plan will be to move the event to Andi’s parent’s house. This isn’t going to happen though because it’s not going to rain! 🌧️

The DJ + music will be located on the upper deck and stern (back) of the boat. There will be space on the bow (front) and lower deck of the boat to “escape” the music if needed. You might bring some ear protection for your kiddos though, just in case.

Unfortunately, no. It’s a river boat, not a ski boat. But there should be plenty of cool sightseeing and dancing to keep you entertained.
